Real exam questions to help you practice

You can’t cut corners when it comes to the fundamental knowledge exam — the right approach and the right amount of time make a world of difference. With our our extensive experience teaching AFK, we have honed our program to focus on the most effective methods.

Our course is designed so that the topics are broken down into mini-programs. This allows our instructors the time to dive deep into the details needed for both exam and real-world applications — this crucial context has been proven to help our dentists absorb the massive amounts of information of the AFK.

We also constantly update our course material to stay on top of exam trends. We create mock exams that challenge you, not comfort you, and offer self-exam stations that provide as much practice as you want.

Our six-month course prepares you to clear AFK and move forward as a more knowledgeable dentist.

Board Exams

All dentists who want to practice in Canada must adhere to Canadian standards and criteria, which are often different from other countries in the world. To prove they can uphold these standards, all internationally-trained dentists must have their work assessed in a four-part dental equivalency process. This process is overseen by the National Dental Examining Board (NDEB).

The NDEB Assessment of Fundamental Knowledge (AFK) Exam is the first official step in your journey to becoming a dentist in Canada. The AFK exam is an extensive multiple-choice exam that tests your knowledge of both biomedical science and applied clinical science. From anatomy to pharmacology, candidates are required to refresh their knowledge within the context of Canadian norms and standards.
