With the introduction of the situational judgment component to the third exam in the Canadian dental equivalency process, the NDEB is filling a gap left open by the previous ACS exam.
After over a year of development, our course delivers a comprehensive training program that will help you adapt to any scenario you might face on exam day.
Put together in principle by our CLO and former University of Toronto instructor, Dr. Marwan Al Rayes, and former RCDSO staff member and independent compliance expert, Dr. Lesia Waschuk, this course will take you through a tremendous amount of case-based learning with practice in small groups to maximize your exposure to various clinical situations.
What is the NDECC®?
Assessment of Fundamental Knowledge (AFK)
Assessment of Clinical Judgement (ACJ)
NDECC®
Board Exam (OSCE)
All dentists who want to practice in Canada must follow Canadian standards and criteria, which are often different from other countries worldwide. To prove they can uphold these standards, all non-accredited international dentists must have their work and knowledge assessed in a four-part dental equivalency process overseen by The National Dental Examining Board of Canada (NDEB).
The National Dental Examination of Clinical Competence (NDECC®) (formally known as the ACS) Exam is the third official step in your journey to becoming a dentist in Canada. The NDECC™ assesses dentists’ clinical skills and situational judgment by requiring them to complete several specific projects and solve problems in work‑related situations in a dental clinic simulation. During the two-day examination, the clinical component will be conducted on simulated patients (manikins) in a clinical setting under specific infection control rules that apply throughout the exam. While the situational judgement component problem-solving analyses in dealing with patients.
